Job summary

Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Calgary office is actively hiring an Indirect Tax Senior Advisor to join the team. This position reports to the Manager, Indirect Tax in the Indirect Tax department, part of Pembina’s Financial Services division.

The Senior Advisor will contribute to improving Indirect Tax processes and systems while maintaining current levels and serving as a trusted advisor on sales, use, excise, and customs taxes across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive indirect tax experience gained within a public accounting firm, industry environment, or a combination of both.
• Experience with Indirect Tax master data setup and functionality in SAP along with strong Excel skills.
• Good project management skills with a keen business sense and a focus on adding value to the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership, drive initiatives forward, and effectively navigate challenges to achieve business objectives.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multiple business units to oversee PST (Canada), Sales and Use Taxes (USA) and VAT (International).
• Assist with indirect tax and customs filings in the US, Canada and internationally.
• Support audits related to GST, PST, US Taxes, Fuel Taxes and others as they arise.
• Manage a high volume of transactional data and meet deadlines in a short period.
• Reconcile indirect tax accounts and maintain online tax accounts with authorities.
• Contribute to Pembina’s safety culture and diverse, inclusive workplace.
