GitLab is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to shape enterprise identity and AI access across cloud environments. You’ll design scalable policies, migrate automation to code, and drive governance for AI agents, while collaborating with Security, IT, Engineering and Compliance to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Your role emphasizes peer-reviewed infrastructure-as-code, cloud runtimes, and a proactive stance on AI security and non-human identities, advancing GitLab’s secure-by-design culture.

Qualifikationen

• Extensive IAM design experience for enterprise-scale solutions.
• Expertise with Identity Engine, authentication policies and API automation.
• Strong IaC practice using Terraform/OpenTofu/Pulumi for identity platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, modular and testable services on cloud runtimes.
• Cloud identity depth in GCP and AWS with workload federation and guardrails.
• Hands-on governance of AI platforms and awareness of AI risks.
• Knowledge of IGA platforms and regulatory compliance (FedRAMP, SOC2).

Aufgaben

• Design scalable identity and AI access solutions, including governance for AI agents.
• Replace low-code automation with engineered services and infra-as-code migrations.
• Codify identity platforms and migrate from click-ops to code with peer reviews.
• Re-architect identity across cloud environments and implement least privilege.
• Lead identity and access engineering for enterprise AI platforms and SSO integration.
• Mentor engineers on modern identity and AI security practices.
• Collaborate with Security, IT, Engineering, and Compliance to translate needs into specs.
