Metrolinx is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead stakeholder engagement, elicit and analyze business requirements, and translate needs into actionable solution specifications. You will manage small projects from initiation through delivery, supporting testing, change management and operational readiness.

The role focuses on driving process improvements, developing business cases, and maximizing value from technology investments through governance and effective delivery support.

Competenze

• 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst with Agile delivery, writing user stories and managing backlogs.
• Experience on large, complex transformational projects and multiple simultaneous initiatives.
• Facilitation, conflict resolution, influencing, executive communication, project management and stakeholder management.
• Ability to create high-quality executive presentations, including data visualization and synthesis of complex information.
• Experience with Jira and Asana, and with data modeling, workflows and business process analysis.

Our I&IT Development and Delivery division is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to lead stakeholder engagement, business requirements elicitation and analysis, and translate business needs into actionable solution requirements that support strategic business and technology initiatives. The role will manage small projects from initiation through delivery, while supporting testing, change management, reporting, and operational readiness activities. The successful candidate will drive process improvements, contribute to business case development, and help maximize the value of technology investments through effective analysis, governance, and delivery support.

What will I be doing?

• Capture, analyze, summarize, document, verbalize and present the critical and key value items from product development plans to senior management team members in a manner that clearly defines the benefits of proposed resource deployments.
• Develops a thorough understanding of all Metrolinx departments and business units' goals, practices and processes to translate into goals and objectives for a project charter and user stories that define a product backlog
• Translates high-level, conceptual business strategies and objectives into user stories to guide design and development activities for project sponsors and product owners using process mapping, interviews etc.
• Partners in the development of strategies for the application of technology; leads or participates in the development of business cases
• Investigates organization functions and processes and proposes improvements through automation and making best use of technology to improve effectiveness and customer-service experience
• Supports user acceptance testing
• Organizes dialogue and discussion between users and delivery team to assist with managing competing objectives through sustainable change.
• Collaborates with diverse stakeholders to gather data needed for solid decision-making
• Proactively identifies opportunities and prepares plans for new technology/automation or streamlining of business processes and workflows for project sponsors and product owners
• Promotes innovation and encourages the adoption of best practices based on industry and business knowledge, while ensuring stability to operational integrity
• Promotes a coherent corporate approach and structured methodologies to application delivery and project management
• Develops project documentation and implementation procedures to meet corporate and industry standards and enable intended benefits to be realized
• Assists in operational rollout including user and support training and change management.
• Develops project plans and in the preparation of product delivery and release plans.
• Assists in facilitation of daily Scrum stand-ups, Scrum of Scrums and working/Steering meetings.
• Provides leadership, coaching, guidance and direction to team members.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

Education: Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Process Improvement, or a related discipline

Experience:

• Demonstrated years' experience as a Business Analyst, preferably 5 years with Agile delivery, writing user stories and managing product backlogs.
• Experience of large complex transformational projects and multiple simultaneous projects.
• Experienced in facilitation, conflict resolution, influencing, executive communication, project management and stakeholder management.
• Demonstrated ability to create high-quality executive presentations, including data visualization, slide formatting, storytelling, and synthesis of complex information into concise, audience-focused messages.
• Business Analysis, Agile or Scaled Agile (SAFe) from a recognized institute.
• Experience with Jira and Asana.
• Experience with computerized quantitative and analytical tools (e.g. data modeling, workflows, and business process analysis) and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).
• Interpersonal, oral/written/presentation communications skills to document and present business needs, specifications, reports, project documents, and implementation plans.
