Job summary

SLR Consulting (Canada) is seeking a Senior Hydrologist to lead hydrogeology and hydrology projects across Western Canada. You will direct investigations, monitoring programs, and water balance analyses while mentoring staff and engaging clients.

You will contribute to business development, ensure high-quality technical deliverables, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical water resources solutions. Travel for field programs is expected.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive experience in hydrology or water resources, preferably within a consulting environment.
Strong experience leading hydrologic investigations, monitoring programs, and hydrologic/hydraulic modelling.
Demonstrated ability supporting or managing project delivery, including budgets and schedules.
Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Willingness to travel for field programs and client meetings.

Responsibilities

Lead hydrologic investigations and monitoring programs across mining, infrastructure, and resource development projects.
Oversee hydrologic modelling and water balance studies to support project design and planning.
Provide senior technical review and QA/QC of hydrology deliverables and regulatory submissions.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development initiatives.
Support Environmental Flow Needs assessments and data-driven recommendations.
