Job summary

Halifax Regional Centre for Education in Dartmouth, NS, seeks an HR Manager, Human Resource Services to lead a client-service HR team delivering staffing, policy interpretation, accommodation support, investigations and discipline. The role reports to the Coordinator, Human Resource Services.

The successful candidate will participate in collective bargaining, committees, and policy development, ensuring best practices across 11k+ employees in a large unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in HR or equivalent.
• Minimum five (5) years experience in HR providing a broad range of services.
• Working knowledge of employment legislation (Nova Scotia Labour Standards Code, Human Rights Act).

Responsibilities

• Lead HR services for School Administrators and Supervisory Staff.
• Support staffing, contract interpretation, return to work/accommodations, performance management, investigations and discipline.
• Participate in collective bargaining and committees; develop and implement HR processes and policies.
• Support Student Success Planning and collaborate with departments to promote best practices in HR delivery.
