Job summary

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources Department at 150 Henry Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. This full-time role oversees employee relations, investigations, performance management, policy compliance and initiatives to improve retention and engagement.

Ideal candidates hold a HR degree or certificate with 5+ years in a Generalist role, and possess strong knowledge of employment laws, with ADP HRIS and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or certificate in HR management/labour relations
• Minimum 5 years as an HR Generalist with supervisory experience
• Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices
• Experience with benefits, pension administration, and disability management
• Criminal Record Check required

Responsibilities

• Oversee complex employee relations matters and guide leadership on performance and discipline
• Facilitate meetings with managers and employees on complex concerns
• Lead investigations and prepare detailed reports with recommendations
• Lead mediation and disciplinary/termination meetings and prepare letters
• Provide guidance and oversee the HR Generalists team
• Develop programs to enhance retention, engagement and performance
• Oversee policy development and administration of benefits, pension and leave management
