ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join the HR team! This role is based out of our head office in Downtown Calgary with the ability to work from home in a hybrid capacity. The HRBP partner will support our business operations by delivering tactical and strategic HR solutions to leaders and their business units.

You will be accountable for developing, implementing, and managing strategies designed to support the overall HR business plan. You will also provide professional HR guidance to client groups with the objective of facilitating the successful completion of goals. This includes all aspects of workforce planning and people processes (performance, development, employee relations, etc.) to enhance business performance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  1. Provide best-in-class HR advice and business partnerships for client groups in support of business plans.
  2. Partner with business leaders on setting related business priorities and resource allocation to address operational challenges and opportunities.
  3. Support change management and employee engagement plans.
  4. Support the development and implementation of strategies, processes, and methods to build organizational capability.
  5. Partner with leaders in forecasting and planning the talent pipeline requirements in line with the function/business strategy.
  6. Manage all aspects of the functional human resource programs including planning, organizing, and providing direction and control to ensure on-time delivery within budget.
  7. Provide employee performance and discipline support.
  8. Identify and mitigate risks on initiatives and activities that may impact areas of reputation, legislative compliance, and employee relations.
  9. Operate in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards, regulatory, and legal requirements; ensure these requirements are understood and adhered to by the business.
  10. Build organizational alignment (e.g., positions, accountabilities and authorities, people, deliverables, tasks).
  11. Provide professional HR guidance within a framework that demonstrates an understanding of business trends and needs.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or Social Sciences (or equivalent experience).
  • Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation or working towards it is an asset.
  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in human resource management with broad-based generalist experience.
  • Experience with collective agreement interpretation, employee relations issues, human rights, performance management, and labor practices.
  • Experience with workforce planning and implementing strategies to recruit, engage, and retain employees.
  • Motivated team player who can work collaboratively across diverse areas of the business.
  • Ability to engage, manage difficult conversations, and influence outcomes while maintaining strong trusting relationships.
  • Demonstrated capability to understand the business and create the link between HR strategy and business strategy.
  • Ability to identify potential and existing problems and create effective solutions following appropriate analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong MS Word and Excel skills.
