Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Highway Designer/Engineer to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence strategic decisions on Ontario projects, based in Thunder Bay or Sudbury. You will ensure excellence on mobility infrastructure shaping generations, with opportunities to mentor and collaborate across disciplines.

You will apply OpenRoads, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D and project management tools to deliver design quality while managing schedules, budgets, and client relations in a dynamic

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • 10-20+ years of highway/roadway design experience (MTO projects preferred).
  • P. Eng or Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist designation.
  • Proven experience with Design-Build/P3 projects.
  • Deep knowledge of Ontario environmental standards and design manuals.
  • Familiarity with OpenRoads, MTO CPS/HICO, and BIM (assets).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

  • Act as a liaison with clients, providing strategic input and building long‑term relationships
  • Drive proposal development and contribute to WSP’s "Future Ready" initiatives
  • Review and validate designs, ensuring compliance and excellence
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122 900 - $162 800

MB & ON: $112 100 - $154 400

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $111 000 - $147 400
