Job summary

Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) seeks a Health & Safety Manager to lead the development and execution of HSE programs for the Confederation Line project. You will drive risk assessments, manage subcontractor safety, and ensure regulatory compliance while promoting a culture of safety, service, and teamwork.

The role requires strong English communication, contract management experience, and the ability to mentor colleagues. A comprehensive benefits package and RRSP match are offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified health and safety credentials (CRSP/CHSC/CHSO asset).
• College certificate/diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
• 10+ years in safety-critical industrial environments; transportation or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Experience with risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement RTM's health and safety programs for the Confederation Line.
• Lead hazard assessments and risk management across complex systems.
• Manage subcontractor safety plans and monitor performance.
• Maintain HSE risk registers and ensure effective mitigations.
• Conduct inspections and audits, including occasional overnight/weekend work.
