Job summary

CIHI is building a talent pool for a Senior Analyst to organize and leverage pan-Canadian health data. The role involves data management, developing standards, preparing documentation, and supporting client queries.

You will contribute to analytical reports, indicators, and custom data requests while collaborating on department projects. The role requires 3–5 years in data analysis with relational databases and proficiency in Python/R.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience working with relational databases / large datasets.
• Experience with CIHI or other health-related data sources.
• Advanced proficiency with data manipulation and statistical software (Python, R).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience producing stakeholder-facing data visualizations.
• Demonstrated project management skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Lead to manage CIHI data and support key deliverables for internal and external dissemination.
• Conduct data management and analytical activities including writing and updating statistical code for development, computation, analysis and verification of key deliverables.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of data, tools and analytical techniques used to produce standard and ad-hoc outputs.
• Conduct environmental scans and literature reviews to support reports, statistics and indicators.
• Contribute to development of materials for dissemination of findings and knowledge translation; review written products for analytic quality.
• Provide professional and timely client support to respond to internal and external client queries.
• Maintain current knowledge of CIHI’s data holdings, trends in health services research and stakeholder information needs to support current work.
