Job summary

Aversan Inc. in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to design, develop and test embedded hardware at the forefront of aerospace-grade electronics.

You will contribute to new product development, support existing hardware, document designs, participate in reviews, and stay current with industry trends while collaborating in a cross-functional team on safety-critical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer engineering.
• Strong hardware development experience with hands-on lab work.
• Experience with hardware test equipment and signal integrity basics.

We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, Design, Develop and Test new embedded hardware at the forefront of technology
• Support and enhance existing embedded hardware
• Apply established development processes and assist in process improvement
• Analyze requirements, research and identify solutions and develop the design
• Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation
• Provide input to architecture and design reviews
• Provide input and evaluation of new technologies and products
• Keep current with embedded hardware trends and share knowledge
• Contribute to the release of manufacturing technical data packages for products
• Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, or equivalent
• Strong experience in hardware development and hands on lab experience
• Experience/familiarity in the following is an asset:
  • Experience working with a multi-disciplined team
  • Familiar with a product development process
  • Familiar with hardware test equipment -- logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Familiarity with principles of high-speed digital circuit board design including signal integrity concepts.
  • Design capture tools (preferably Mentor Graphics)
  • Requirements capture, analysis, and tracking.
  • Hobby projects with Raspberry Pi and/or Arduino
  • Familiarity with FPGAs
