Job summary

Axiomatic Technologies Corporation in Mississauga is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design high-power and high-voltage power electronics, including DC/DC and DC/AC converters, and motor controllers. You will produce electrical schematics, magnetic designs, and contribute to EMC/UL/CE certifications.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, validation and marketing teams, and apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of work-related experience
  • Design experience in high-power electronics design such as DC/AC inverters, DC/DC and AC/DC power supplies
  • High-voltage designs will be considered a definite asset
  • Strong understanding of layout design for high power electronics
  • Experience in agency certification processes: EMC, UL, FCC, CE
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
  • Work well independently and in team environments

About this position

About Axiomatic Technologies corporation has been collaborating with international heavy equipment and engine engineering teams to develop control or power product solutions such as e ngine controls, battery charging, machine power regulation and motor control are a few of many applications in which our controllers are trusted by customers worldwide. Our marketing, design, and production team is located at our ISO 9001 registered factory in Mississauga. Axiomatic operates out of Canada, Finland and the states.

About the role

  • Develop schematic designs from customer specifications.
  • Magnetic design and prototype for inductors and transformers
  • Contribute to product certification (EMC, UL, CE)
  • Verification and validation of hardware design
  • Present technical data/engineering reports to development team and customer
  • Identify, qualify, and source electronic components used in Bills of Materials (BOM)
  • Meet occasionally with component suppliers and provide suggestions in new designs and technologies

What you'll do

  • We are looking for an experienced candidate in high-power and high-voltage power electronics design such as DC/DC power supplies, DC/AC inverters and motor controllers to join our hardware development team.
  • As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for electrical schematic, magnetic, control and instrumentation designs, design validation/verification, EMC certification.
  • Other duties include providing support to manufacturing, validation and marketing departments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Experience with 3kW+ high-power electronic design a definite asset.
