Job summary

Ranovus Inc. in Ottawa is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead architecture, design, validation, and release of advanced hardware systems for data centers and AI workloads.

You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate across R&D to deliver high-speed, power-efficient designs. Responsibilities include PCB stackups, high-speed signaling, RF/digital interfaces, and extensive lab characterization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant hardware design experience.
• Experience with EMI/EMC design principles.
• Schematic capture with OrCAD.
• PCB layout with Cadence Allegro.
• Strong signal integrity analysis.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and lab experience.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to hardware architecture and system-level design.
• Conduct and participate in peer design reviews.
• Define circuit pack functional requirements.
• Participate in component engineering including selection, coding, and review.
• Capture detailed circuit-level schematics.
• Perform design simulations and analysis.
• Develop PCB stackups and guide PCB layout efforts.
• Manage and coordinate PCB layout resources.
• Work with high-speed RF transmission lines and high-speed digital interfaces.
• Lead bring-up, debug, and characterization of new designs.
• Mentor and guide junior hardware engineers.
• Author and maintain technical documentation including Functional Specs, Hardware Design Specs, Verification Test Plans, ECO Docs and Release Packages.
