Job summary

Cognizant in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a QA Engineer with Guidewire expertise to design and execute automated and manual tests for Policy Center and Billing Center. You will translate business requirements into comprehensive test artifacts and collaborate across teams to ensure quality software releases.

The role emphasizes hands-on automation (BDD/Cucumber), strong knowledge of Guidewire workflows, and participation in Agile ceremonies while working in a hybrid model with two days per week

Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of IT experience focused on QA in P&C insurance domain and Guidewire testing.
• Strong knowledge of Policy Center lifecycle and workflows.
• Must have Guidewire certification completed.
• Hands-on automation knowledge, BDD/Cucumber.
• Experience with Test Case design, Test Execution, Test Planning, Defect Logging and tracking.
• Good knowledge of JIRA, JTMF testing tools.
• Experience in Agile and standard QA processes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps).

• Engage in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Job description

In this role, you will

• Design, develop, and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts for Guidewire applications.

• Actively engage in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

What you need to have to be considered:

• Overall, 6 to 10 years of IT experienced focussed on QA in P&C insurance domain and Guidewire testing.
• Strong knowledge of Policy Center lifecycle and workflows.
• Must to have Guidewire certification completed.
• Must have hands on automation knowledge, BDD Cucumber.
• Good hands-on experience on Test Case design, Test Execution, Test Planning, Defect Logging, and tracking.
• Good Knowledge in JIRA,JTMF testing tools.
• Good experience in Agile and well versed in standard QA processes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps) to integrate automation into the development lifecycle.

• Working experience in offshore / onshore delivery model.
• Knowledge/experience on automation framework design and maintenance
• In-depth understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain concepts and the specific functionalities of Guidewire Claim Center, PolicyCenter and BillingCenter.

Total compensation:

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 60,000 - 90,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
