Qualifications

  • Strong financial modeling, reporting, and executive presentation development capabilities.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for executives.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Finance Leadership: act as the primary finance advisor to senior executives on strategic, operational, and financial matters; deliver actionable insights and business case development.
  • Financial Planning & Performance Management: lead annual planning, forecasting, budgeting, and long‑range planning; oversee reporting and variance analysis; partner with technology to automate reporting.
  • Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership: build relationships with executive leaders; influence decisions through data‑driven insights.
  • Risk, Governance & Controls: ensure governance, controls, and regulatory compliance; lead remediation and continuous improvement.
  • People Leadership: lead and develop a team of finance professionals; foster collaboration, accountability, and a culture of growth.

Work Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Hours: 37.5 Line of Business: Finance Pay Details: $115,600 - $163,200 CAD This role is eligible for a discretionary variable compensation award that considers business and individual performance. Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Finance LeadershipAct as the primary finance advisor to senior business and Finance executives on strategic, operational, and financial matters. Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to support business performance, strategic planning, and executive decision-making. Lead the evaluation of business opportunities, investment initiatives, and strategic priorities through rigorous financial analysis and business case development.
  • Financial Planning & Performance ManagementLead annual planning, forecasting, budgeting, and long‑range financial planning processes. Oversee financial reporting, management reporting, variance analysis, and executive presentations including Monitor financial performance and identify emerging risks, opportunities, and trends impacting business outcomes. Drive accountability for financial results and support achievement of strategic and operational objectives. Work with technology to automate reporting capabilities and implement controls for reporting accuracy.
  • Stakeholder Management & Business PartnershipBuild and maintain strong relationships with executive leaders and key stakeholders across Finance and the business. Influence strategic decisions through effective communication, data‑driven insights, and sound financial judgment. Partner across functional areas to support enterprise initiatives, business transformation efforts, and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Risk, Governance & ControlsEnsure effective financial governance, controls, and risk management practices are established and maintained. Support compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies. Lead control enhancements, remediation initiatives, and continuous improvement activities as required.
  • People LeadershipLead, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence. Drive colleague engagement, talent development, succession planning, and recruitment activities. Create an inclusive environment that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and high performance. Promote a positive work environment that encourages productivity, innovation, creativity, teamwork, analysis and advice – act as a role model.
Qualifications
  • Required ExperienceExtensive experience (8-10+ years) in Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), business partnering, or management reporting in a medium to large organization that operates using best practices and performance management processes. Demonstrated experience providing strategic advice and decision support to senior executives. Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with the ability to synthesize large volumes of information and data into concise, actionable recommendations. Proven leadership experience managing teams and leading large‑scale finance initiatives. Strong track record of influencing stakeholders and driving results in complex, matrixed environments. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to communicate complex concepts effectively and tailor messaging to diverse audiences including executives.
  • Education & CredentialsUndergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. CPA designation considered an asset. Strong financial modeling, reporting, and executive presentation development capabilities. Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities.
  • SkillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Advanced Excel expert with a proven ability to automate and simplify complex financial and operational processes, delivering scalable solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and decision‑making. Familiarity with TD’s reporting systems and/or process across the organization considered a strong asset. Experience using and knowledge of Hyperion, OBI and Power Query also considered an asset.

Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
