Job summary
ITASCA North America seeks a Senior Hydrogeologist/Groundwater Modeler to advance groundwater modeling across Canada and North America. You will lead modeling efforts, interpret hydrogeologic data, and guide project decisions in mining, dewatering, and environmental programs.
The role emphasizes mentoring, technical review, and ongoing development of ITASCA’s groundwater tools, with Canada-based locations and optional hybrid/remote work. Strong mining experience is highly valued.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in hydrogeology, geochemistry, environmental engineering, or related field.
- Approximately 10–20 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven record of technical excellence in groundwater flow modeling.
- Strong experience developing, calibrating, applying, and interpreting numerical groundwater models.
Responsibilities
- Develop, calibrate, apply, and review numerical groundwater flow models for mining, environmental, and water-resource projects.
- Support modeling related to mine dewatering, depressurization, pit inflows, groundwater recovery, and contaminant transport.
- Develop and interpret conceptual hydrogeologic models using field data and project constraints.
- Mentor junior and intermediate staff in modeling methods and technical communication.
