ITASCA North America seeks a Senior Hydrogeologist to lead groundwater, mine water, and environmental projects across Canada and North America. You will plan field investigations, interpret data, develop hydrogeologic models, and contribute to client relationships.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a related field, 10–20 years' experience, and professional registration or ability to obtain it. Location in Canada with hybrid/remote options may be considered.

ITASCA North America is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to support challenging mining, groundwater, and environmental projects across Canada and North America.

This role is suited for a technically strong professional with experience in groundwater hydrology, contaminant hydrogeology, field investigations, groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling, and technical reporting. Mining experience is strongly valued, particularly in mine water management, dewatering, depressurization, seepage, closure, permitting support, and hydrogeologic support for mine planning and operations.

As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will help clients understand groundwater systems, evaluate uncertainty, and turn field data, project constraints, and models into practical recommendations. Your work will support mine water management, groundwater characterization, dewatering strategy, contaminant transport assessment, permitting, closure planning, and risk management.

What you’ll do

• Lead or support hydrogeology, mine water, groundwater, and environmental projects.

• Interpret monitoring and testing data and develop conceptual hydrogeologic models.

• Prepare technical reports, presentations, proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and work plans.

• Experience with contaminant hydrogeology, aqueous geochemistry, groundwater/surface water interaction, water supply, or remediation.
• Experience with MODFLOW, FEFLOW, MINEDW, MT3D, or other transport modeling tools, GIS, or data analysis.
• Experience supporting environmental impact assessment, permitting, regulatory engagement, or closure planning.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams involving hydrogeology, geomechanics, engineering geology, geochemistry, data science, and numerical modeling.

Location and travel

This is a full-time position based in Canada. Preferred locations are Toronto, Vancouver, or Sudbury, but other Canadian locations, including hybrid/remote work options, may be considered for the right candidate.
