Job summary

TEEMA in Brampton, Ontario is seeking a Security Specialist to support government security compliance projects. You will ensure CSP and CGP adherence, prepare security plans, and coordinate with internal teams and external partners to meet regulatory requirements.

The role requires 5–7 years in ACSO/CSO, a strong grasp of Canadian security programs, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple high‑priority tasks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–7 years in ACSO and/or CSO roles.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian Contracts Security Program (CSP) and CGP.
  • Degree in Business Admin, Law Enforcement, IT Security or related field is an asset.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and in teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with internal and external customers.
  • Liaise with multiple departments toward mutual goals.
  • Capable of handling multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
  • Sound judgment for complex security screening files.
  • Deadline-oriented and flexible; able to work under pressure.
  • Bilingual French/English is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance in all aspects related to CSP and CGP.
  • Prepare and maintain Project Security Plans outlining government security regulations.
  • Prepare reports on status of government approvals for IT processing, physical security, and document safeguarding.
  • Stay apprised of project evolution by attending internal and external reviews.
  • Assist with bid/proposal packages from Bid–No Bid to contract implementation.
  • Monitor risks, elevate issues, and propose action plans.
  • Advise on Project Physical Security Requirements for facilities.
  • Assist with Government inspections: Physical Security, Document Safeguarding, Classified Processing, COMSEC, CGP.
  • Administer visit clearance documentation and oversee internal visitor procedures.
  • Coordinate tracking, storage, and delivery of classified documents.
  • Develop and implement Security Requirement Check Lists (SRCL) for projects.
  • Provide ongoing training and awareness on CSP and CGP.
  • Maintain resource lists to ensure personnel clearance by role.
  • Perform regular audits of government security program adherence.
  • Liaise with contractors on security equipment and ensure contract conformity.
  • Act as Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) when CSO unavailable.
  • Hours may be flexible; after-hours on-call may be required.
  • Other related duties as required.
