Job summary

Intelcom - Dragonfly seeks a General Manager of Child Care to provide strategic and operational leadership across licensed programs in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Reporting to the COO, you will lead program managers, oversee budgets, licensing compliance, and drive growth while maintaining high quality, safeguarding children, and fostering partnerships with families and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience within licensed child care, early learning, or human services.
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading managers and overseeing multi-site operations.
• Experience managing budgets, operational plans, performance outcomes, and priorities.
• Strong knowledge of provincial child care legislation, licensing requirements, funding agreements, risk management, and safety requirements.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams and navigate regulatory matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational oversight of licensed early-years and out-of-school-care programs across multiple locations.
• Lead, coach, and develop program managers while supporting workforce planning and employee development.
• Ensure programs meet licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and funding agreements.
• Establish and monitor departmental goals and quality standards aligned with organizational objectives.
• Build strong relationships with families, community partners, regulators, and stakeholders to identify growth opportunities.
