Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Geotechnical and Geohazards Engineer to join our Calgary, AB office. You’ll work with a global team to reduce geohazard impacts, design resilient infrastructure, and lead technical deliveries across North America.

The role requires advanced geotechnical expertise, strong communication, and field leadership. Travel for remote field work may be required; preferred is PhD or Master’s in engineering geology or geotechnical engineering with P.Eng in AB/BC.

Qualifications

• Advanced debris flow models and mitigation design experience.
• Graduate degree in engineering geology or geotechnical engineering.
• Licensed to register as P.Eng in AB and/or BC; US PE considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead field investigations of slope and river hazards.
• Model natural hazard phenomena including landslides and debris flows.
• Provide senior technical oversight and strategic growth in North America.
• Write reports with clear limitations, assumptions, and budgets.
