Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical site investigations and analyze geological data for underground mines.
• Perform stability analyses for openings, tunnels, and stopes with appropriate ground support.
• Develop geotechnical monitoring programs to assess in-situ conditions.
• Provide guidance on mine design parameters and excavation sequencing.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geotechnical site investigations and analyze geological and geomechanical data for underground mines.
• Perform stability analyses for mine openings, tunnels, and stopes, recommending appropriate ground support systems .
• Develop and implement geotechnical monitoring programs to assess in-situ conditions.
• Provide technical guidance on mine design parameters, excavation sequencing, and operational procedures.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, design documents, and risk assessments.
• Mentor junior geotechnical engineers and collaborate closely with mine planning and operations teams.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering , specifically within underground mining environments.
• In-depth knowledge of rock mechanics, numerical modeling , and ground support design principles.
