Job summary

Thurber Engineering Ltd. seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our Prince George, BC office. The role combines project management, technical leadership, and field activities to solve geotechnical challenges across Canada.

The ideal candidate has a Civil/Geological Engineering background, a geotechnical focus, and EGBC eligibility. Relocation support may be available within Canada, with a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of a post-secondary program in Civil or Geological Engineering.
• English language proficiency is required.
• Experience in the Geotechnical or Geological Engineering field.
• Class 5 driver's license and ability to drive mid to full-sized pickup trucks.
• Willingness to travel to project locations and client offices.
• Eligible for EGBC membership.
• Strong attention to detail and writing skills.
• Experience with geotechnical software.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Project management of geotechnical projects.
• Prepare proposals, fee estimates, and technical reports as directed by the Branch Manager.
• Provide technical support and leadership on projects and for staff, including reviews of calculations.
• Identify new opportunities and develop them with the Branch Manager.
• Coordinate cost estimates, tender submissions, and client reports.
• Scope projects and assist in proposal preparation.
• Mentor and train staff.
• Establish and maintain client relationships.
• Participate in field work as needed to meet objectives.
• Manage projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Travel to project locations and client offices.
