Job summary

Thurber Engineering Ltd. seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our Prince George, BC office. The role combines project management, technical leadership, and field activities to solve geotechnical challenges across Canada.

The ideal candidate has a Civil/Geological Engineering background, a geotechnical focus, and EGBC eligibility. Relocation support may be available within Canada, with a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Completion of a post-secondary program in Civil or Geological Engineering.
English language proficiency is required.
Experience in the Geotechnical or Geological Engineering field.
Class 5 driver's license and ability to drive mid to full-sized pickup trucks.
Willingness to travel to project locations and client offices.
Eligible for EGBC membership.
Strong attention to detail and writing skills.
Experience with geotechnical software.
Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Project management of geotechnical projects.
Prepare proposals, fee estimates, and technical reports as directed by the Branch Manager.
Provide technical support and leadership on projects and for staff, including reviews of calculations.
Identify new opportunities and develop them with the Branch Manager.
Coordinate cost estimates, tender submissions, and client reports.
Scope projects and assist in proposal preparation.
Mentor and train staff.
Establish and maintain client relationships.
Participate in field work as needed to meet objectives.
Manage projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
Travel to project locations and client offices.
