WSP Global Inc. on Vancouver Island, Nanaimo, seeks an experienced geotechnical engineer to lead investigations through design and field support for major infrastructure projects across BC and the Yukon.

You will deliver technical studies, guide multidisciplinary teams, and manage investigation programs while ensuring safety, quality, and budget targets are met. Strong software proficiency and 10+ years of experience are required.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
• Registered or eligible for registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency with geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, Rocscience).
• Proven experience managing investigation programs and multidisciplinary projects.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex subsurface conditions and risks.
• Strong understanding of field practices and construction methods.
• Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Aufgaben

• Lead and deliver geotechnical engineering projects from investigation through to design and construction support.
• Prepare technical studies and reports with clear, actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate across disciplines to support infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, dams, and buildings.
• Share expertise across regions to strengthen technical excellence and innovation.
• Manage geotechnical investigation programs, including subcontractor coordination and tendering support.
• Evaluate complex geotechnical challenges such as settlement, slope stability, liquefaction, and frost effects.
• Oversee field programs including drilling, in-situ testing, and construction monitoring.
• Contribute to successful project delivery aligned with quality, schedule, and budget targets.
