Job summary

Stantec in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead diverse geotechnical projects within a multidisciplinary team. You will manage field investigations, design shallow and deep foundations, and provide senior technical review across transportation, infrastructure, and housing sectors.

You will mentor junior staff, help develop proposals, and collaborate with colleagues across Atlantic Canada.

Qualifications

Ability to lead and deliver geotechnical projects independently.
Proactive approach with strong technical judgement and problem‑solving skills.
Effective communication, collaboration and client relationship skills.
Commitment to technical excellence, quality delivery, and junior mentorship.
Interest in supporting business development and growth of the local geotechnical practice.
Experience in shallow and deep foundation design, slope stability, monitoring and instrumentation, settlement analysis, ground improvement and materials testing.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage geotechnical projects from scope to delivery.
Perform field assignments including site inspections, monitoring programs, and slope stability assessments.
Collaborate with teams in Nova Scotia and across Canada; mentor junior staff.
Support client communications, reporting, budgeting and scheduling.
