Job summary

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority is seeking a Senior Engineer, Geoenvironmental Services to lead a geotechnical review team focused on erosion hazard risk assessment and slope stability in support of TRCA regulatory responsibilities. You will guide engineers and hydrogeologists in complex reviews and coordinate site visits and hearings to advance development limits.

The role requires a Civil Geotechnical degree, a PE in Ontario, and 5+ years in geotechnical engineering with managerial

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario.
• Valid Ontario Class G2 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Reviews all applicable information (reports, drawings, design briefs) to determine the scope of geotechnical review.
• Prepares guidelines and checklists for review processes to ensure consistency of practice.
• Communicates with technical teams, applicants, municipalities and agencies to confirm submission requirements and coordinates site visits.
• Participates in Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) and other hearings as part of permit-related actions.
• Provides engineering support to enforcement and compliance, including site visits and review of reports.
• Reviews slope stabilization and erosion hazard mitigation projects and initiatives.
• Leads a team of staff and ensures that team members understand expectations and priorities.
