Job summary

Moneris in Toronto seeks a Senior General Accountant to manage general accounting and financial analysis with a focus on settlement and project accounting. You will guide Analysts and Accountants, support AP/AR, and oversee fixed assets, contributing to accurate month-end close and reporting.

You will base in Etobicoke with hybrid in-office and remote flexibility, report to the Manager of Settlement and Project Accounting, and participate in a dynamic controllership function within Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is required.
• CPA designation is required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with close and reporting.
• Experience leading or coordinating accounting work.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close with journals and reconciliations.
• Oversee settlement and project accounting activities and revenue recognition.
• Provide coaching to Analysts and General Accountants; escalate issues when needed.
• Support AP/AR processes and fixed asset accounting and controls.

As a senior member of the Accounting team, you will handle first-level escalations, provide guidance to Analysts and Accountants, support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, oversee fixed asset accounting activities, and contribute to accurate month-end close and financial reporting. **Location:** You will be based in our Etobicoke office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.**Reporting Relationship**: You will report to the Manager, Settlement and Project Accounting.**Posting Type:** Replacement.**Salary Range:** The expected base salary range for this role is $67,000 - $90,000. *Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions.
