Job summary

Moneris is seeking a Bilingual Credit Analyst for SMB to assess merchant credit risk and support underwriting decisions. You will analyze personal and business financials, review credit reports, and apply established policies to mitigate risk for prospective and existing merchants.

Based in our Etobicoke office with hybrid flex, this 12-month contract emphasizes collaboration with the SMB Credit team and cross-functional partners while delivering clear credit guidance in both French and English.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, underwriting, financial analysis, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Fluency in French and English.
• Experience reviewing personal and commercial credit bureaus or financial statements.
• Analytical skills with ability to evaluate financial and credit-related information.
• Business acumen and risk judgment.

Responsibilities

• Apply established underwriting criteria and credit policies to evaluate merchant applications and mitigate financial risk.
• Conduct post-review assessments for merchants requesting processing line increases or re-adjudication.
• Perform credit risk assessments of high-risk merchants—including business operations, financials, regulatory requirements, and fraud risk factors.
• Analyze personal, business, and financial information to support credit decisions.
• Partner with internal teams and external sources to support credit training, fraud detection, and monitoring activities.
• Provide guidance to merchants on complex account setups and explain credit policies and decisions.
• Collaborate with the Moneris Fraud team to monitor activity of high-risk merchants.
• Provide backup support to other Credit Analysts, including special projects and peak volumes.
