Apex Utilities Inc. in Leduc, AB is seeking a Senior Engineer, Gas Supply & Planning to lead hydraulic modelling, long-term system analysis, and capital project planning for a safe and reliable gas distribution network.

The role reports to the Manager, Gas Supply and Planning and requires a PE license, 7–10 years in gas utility planning, and strong skills in analytical problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
P.Eng. designation with APEGA
7–10 years of related engineering experience in gas utility, pipeline, hydraulic modelling, or system planning
Valid Class 5 Driver's License

Responsibilities

Lead hydraulic modelling, validation and enhancement of system models for long-term planning.
Plan and justify major capital projects, including upgrades, expansions, and gas supply initiatives.
Conduct system analyses and evaluate project alternatives from technical and economic perspectives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate growth forecasts and asset renewal strategies into long-range plans.
Provide engineering guidance on modelling, standards, regulatory requirements and emerging technologies.
Support regulatory applications, business case development, and compliance activities.
Provide technical support to project teams and other departments.
Demonstrate commitment to safety in all duties.
