Arbor Memorial is seeking a Senior Funeral Director at Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery in Oakville, Ontario. You will oversee all aspects of funeral services, including filing death certificates, maintaining obituaries, embalming, and directing ceremonies, while supporting families with empathy and professionalism.

• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to partner with all levels of the organization.

• Valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Arranges, coordinates and directs funeral ceremonies.
• Meets and surpasses the needs and expectations of the families we serve.
• Maintains active involvement within the community and builds relationships.
• Supports the department’s technology integration for the funeral home’s success.
• Assists survivors with filing claims for death benefits.
• Provides access to post-death counseling and support group activities.
• Provides guidance to Funeral Directors, Apprentice Funeral Directors, and Office Administrators.
• Uploads funeral service information to website and Sharing Memories.

About This Role

As a Senior Funeral Director at Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, located in Oakville, Ontario, you will have the opportunity to provide meaningful support to families on their end‑of -life journey by overseeing and directing all aspects of funeral services, including: filing death certificates, maintaining online obituary listings, performing decedent embalming and providing assistance during the execution of funeral services.

Key Qualifications And Demonstrated Abilities

• Possesses a Funeral Directors license and 7+ years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director. Displays proven arrangement, directing and embalming skills.

• Excellent knowledge of Funeral Home procedures and business practices including Everyday Excellence and Funeral Home Procedures Manuals.
• A valid driver’s license is a mandatory requirement for this position.

• Provides support and guidance to Funeral Directors, Apprentice Funeral Directors, Funeral Director Assistants and Office Administrators.
• Uploads funeral service information to website and Sharing Memories.
