Job summary

Petra Funds Group, a specialist in fund administration and infrastructure for private equity and debt funds, seeks a Senior Fund Accountant in Halifax. You will oversee core accounting and reporting for private credit funds, including loan-level accounting, interest income, capital activity, facility reporting, fee calculations, cash management, and financial statements, while mentoring junior staff.

You’ll partner with fund leadership on complex matters and collaborate with auditors.

Qualifications

At least 3 years experience in accounting, with preference for private credit, partnerships, and/or alternative assets.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with the ability to complete tasks promptly.
Willingness to take on ad-hoc tasks and projects.
Ability to build and maintain advanced spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of Investran Live.
Excellent analytical and planning skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a team approach.
CPA is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact for credit fund client relationships, overseeing engagements from proposal through implementation and ongoing administration.
Ensure engagements are properly staffed and team members receive necessary training.
Develop, implement, and maintain processes to ensure client satisfaction and deadlines.
Review partnership allocation models in line with partnership agreements for a diverse client base.
Gain proficiency in systems like Investran Live, Salesforce CRM, and Intralinks.
Coordinate and review investor communications, including capital call and distribution notices, and capital balance statements.
Oversee and review investment transactions in the Investran Live general ledger.
Review and approve management fee calculations, invoices, and journal entries; oversee cash reconciliation processes.
Review fund financial statements and management reports for accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with the Director on projects, reviewing materials prepared by staff.
Review and/or calculate credit fund performance metrics and support audits.
