Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and evolve our field operations platform used by construction professionals on active job sites. You will work across React web, React Native mobile apps, and a Python/Django backend on AWS with PostgreSQL.

You will design robust APIs, collaborate with product teams, and contribute to architecture decisions while mentoring peers and supporting on-call rotations to ensure reliable software in challenging field conditions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python with experience building backend services and APIs.
• Experience with Django or a similar Python web framework.
• Experience building web applications with React.
• Experience building mobile applications with React Native for iOS and Android.
• Comfortable working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features across the full stack, including our React web application, React Native mobile apps (iOS and Android), and Python/Django backend.
• Design and implement REST APIs that are well-documented, well-tested, and built to handle real-world conditions including intermittent connectivity.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand requirements and translate them into well-scoped technical plans.
• Write clean, maintainable code with strong test coverage for the features you build.
• Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of production issues when they arise.
