Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Access team, leading User Management and Administration capabilities for Autodesk customers. You will develop and enhance cloud-based micro-services and frontends that drive user management and product access, with a focus on reliability and performance.

You will work in a CI/CD cloud environment on AWS, building APIs (REST/GraphQL) and serverless components, using Node.js and React, and collaborating with distributed teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing distributed cloud applications.
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud services, serverless programming, events, and cloud architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Harness, Terraform, Docker, EC2.
• Proficiency in designing and building APIs (REST, GraphQL).
• Experience with Node.js and React.
• Hands-on testing: unit, integration, and system tests.
• Experience with relational databases and/or NoSQL (MySQL, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with caching technologies (Redis).
• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Observability tools: CloudWatch, Splunk, Dynatrace.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in agile environments.
• Interest in geographically diverse teams.

Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our growing Access team leading the User Management and Administration capabilities supporting all Autodesk customers! As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be developing and enhancing cloud-based micro-services and frontends that drive events and data integrations for user management and product access for our customers. Our User Management & Access services are essential to our business, requiring robust and reliable systems. Your role centers around ensuring the highest levels of reliability, availability, and performance to deliver a seamless user experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain resilient micro-services and APIs on AWS Cloud
• Work in a CI/CD Cloud environment, considering the implementation of functionality through several distributed components and services
• Write high-quality code, adhering to coding, security, AI, and testing best practices to ensure that software is stable and reliable
• Assist in the operation of our production systems (on-call support, deployments, troubleshooting)
• Monitor metrics and identify ways to improve telemetry gathering, reporting, and alerting
• Collaborate effectively inside and outside the team. You enjoy working closely with others, learning from colleagues and contributing to the team by sharing knowledge and following best practices and high technical standards

Minimum Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of professional experience developing distributed cloud applications
• Extensive experience working with AWS cloud services, serverless programming , events, and cloud architectures
• Experience working with continuous integration/delivery, and modern development practices and tools (Jenkins, Harness, Terraform, Docker, EC2)
• Proficiency in designing and building APIs (REST, GraphQL)
• Expertise working with JavaScript based programming languages (Node.js, React)
• Deep understanding of the value of testing to deliver high-quality code and hands-on experience writing unit, integration, and system tests
• Experience working with relational databases and/or NoSQL (MySQL, DynamoDB)
• Familiarity with caching technologies (Redis)
• Experience working with event-driven architecture
• Experience building observability into services and infrastructure (CloudWatch, Splunk, Dynatrace)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate in an agile/scrum-team oriented environment
• Interest in working with geographically diverse teams – we have peers in the US, South America, Europe and Asia

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $107,000 and $157,300. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
