Job summary

Autodesk, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Developer (Data & Backend) to design and implement data pipelines and scalable APIs in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with product managers, infrastructure, QA and cross-functional teams to ensure data is accessible, reliable and well-structured for reporting and analytics. Proficiency in Python/Java/Scala, AWS, and modern data tech is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience across multiple capacities.
• 2+ years of experience with Big Data technologies (Airflow, EMR/Spark, Snowflake, Hadoop/Hive).
• Experience with data streaming (Kinesis/Kafka) and RESTful API design.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java/Scala; building scalable APIs.
• Strong background with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Cloud experience (AWS, S3, Lambda, EKS).
• Familiarity with observability platforms (Splunk, Datadog).
• Knowledge of design patterns and modern development practices (Agile, Open-Source).
• Excellent debugging skills

Responsibilities

• Develop data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources into a centralized data repository.
• Develop RESTful APIs & microservices to support operations; write unit and integration tests.
• Improve performance and reliability of data processing and querying.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and partners to translate data requirements into insights.
• Review code and contribute to documentation; ensure security and compliance.
• Stay updated on data engineering technologies and best practices; recommend improvements.
• Ensure data security with access controls and encryption; comply with privacy regulations.
• Troubleshoot issues and optimize code, pipelines, and databases.
