Citi is hiring a Senior Full Stack Developer to join the Inventory Management Applications team within Capital Markets technology. You will architect and deliver high-volume, low-latency Java microservices powering stock record operations across global markets.

You will guide developers, migrate large monolithic systems to microservices, and set engineering standards to ensure production-ready software. Hybrid work model and global exposure are offered.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on experience as a Senior Java Developer with end-to-end enterprise solutions.
• 8+ years Oracle RDBMS design and development incl. PL/SQL, triggers and performance tuning.
• 6+ years building microservices-based apps using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka.
• 7+ years Java multi-threaded programming, including transaction management.
• 6+ years ETL development with Talend, Informatica, or Apache Spark.
• 6+ years DevOps pipelines and tooling (Jenkins, Bamboo, Maven/Gradle) in Agile SCRUM.

Position Overview

The Senior Full Stack Developer will join the Inventory Management Applications team within the Capital Markets technology organization. This role will lead the design and delivery of high-volume, low-latency enterprise systems that power business-critical Stock Record operations. In this role, you will architect and build scalable microservices-based solutions that directly support trading and inventory operations across global markets. You will serve as a technical authority within a collaborative, cross-functional team, guiding developers and shaping the engineering direction of applications that operate at the intersection of performance, reliability, and business impact.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the full stack development of high-volume, low-latency enterprise Java applications that support real-time Capital Markets inventory management.
• Drive the migration of large-scale monolithic systems running on WebLogic into a modern microservices ecosystem using Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka, and related technologies.
• Define and enforce engineering standards across coding, testing, performance tuning, and deployment to ensure high-quality, production-ready software delivery.
• Design end-to-end technical solutions by translating business requirements into system architecture, user stories, and actionable development plans.
• Lead code reviews and guide mid-level developers through complex design challenges, building technical capability across the team.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and resilience gaps in existing systems, then design and implement targeted solutions to address them.
• Collaborate with senior business and technology stakeholders, project managers, quality assurance, and offshore teams to deliver integrated, scalable solutions on time.
• Ensure all production deployments meet operational readiness standards by providing oversight of design and implementation reviews throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 6+ years of hands-on experience as a Senior Java Developer delivering end-to-end enterprise solutions, with demonstrated technical project leadership capability.
• 8+ years of Oracle RDBMS design and development experience, including advanced PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning.
• 6+ years building microservices-based applications using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Netflix OSS components (Eureka, Hystrix, Zuul), Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
• 7+ years of Java multi-threaded programming experience, including concurrency patterns, thread-safe code design, and transaction management using JTA.
• 6+ years of ETL development experience using tools such as Talend, Informatica, or Apache Spark.
• 6+ years working with DevOps pipelines and tooling, including Jenkins, Bamboo, UrbanCode, Maven, and Gradle, within Agile and SCRUM delivery frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Java front-end frameworks including Angular or React.js, combined with full-stack delivery across cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or PCF.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

• Experience implementing and supporting an Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) stack environment for log aggregation and observability.
• Industry-recognized certifications in AWS, Oracle RDBMS, or Data Warehousing technologies.
• Background in Capital Markets technology, particularly in areas such as stock record, inventory management, or trading systems.
• Hands-on experience migrating Oracle RDBMS workloads to cloud or NoSQL platforms, including implementation of large-scale real-time solutions on Big Data or public cloud infrastructure.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
