Job summary

Citibank (Switzerland) AG is seeking an Applications Development Technology Senior Lead Analyst to drive design and implementation of large-scale application systems. The role leads cross-functional teams, defines technical standards, and coordinates with the Technology Team to deliver robust software solutions.

The successful candidate will bring 10+ years of full-stack experience, deep Java/Spring Boot and Angular expertise, and a strong grasp of APIs, microservices, and data platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in full-stack web application development.
• Strong backend development with Java and Spring Boot (REST APIs, security, performance, scalability).
• Strong frontend development with Angular, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS.
• Experience with UI libraries such as Kendo UI.
• Knowledge of micro front-end architecture and patterns.
• Solid API design and microservices concepts.
• Hands-on with SQL Server and relational data modeling.
• Experience with Elasticsearch and Kafka for event streaming.
• Proficiency with GitHub/Bitbucket workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication, ownership mindset, and agile team collaboration.

Job description

The Applications Development Technology Senior Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead integration of functions to meet goals, deploy new products, and enhance processes
• Analyze complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards to define and develop solutions to high level problems
• Provide expertise in area of advanced knowledge of applications programming and plan assignments involving large budgets, cross functional project, or multiple projects
• Develop application methodologies and standards for program analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Utilize advanced knowledge of supported main system flows and comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas to achieve technology goals
• Consult with end users to identify system function specifications and incorporate into overall system design
• Allocate work, and act as an advisor/coach developers, analysts, and new team members
• Influence and negotiate with senior leaders and communicate with external parties
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in full-stack web application development.
• Strong backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot (REST APIs, security concepts, performance, and scalability).
• Strong front-end development experience with Angular including TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
• Experience using UI component libraries such as Kendo UI.
• Working knowledge of micro front-end architecture and patterns.
• Solid understanding of API design and microservices (service boundaries, resilience, observability basics).
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server and relational data modeling.
• Experience with Elasticsearch and event streaming with Kafka.
• Proficiency with GitHub / Bitbucket workflows and practical experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work collaboratively in an agile team.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, and UI testing).
• Exposure to observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing) and production support.
