About Solink

At Solink, our mission is to safeguard what matters most. We provide businesses with the tools to know sooner and act faster by transforming video security into real-time operational insights.

Our cloud-based platform integrates seamlessly with your existing cameras and systems, turning them into intelligent sensors that detect and interpret key moments. This empowers teams to make data-driven decisions, enhance security, and improve operational efficiency.

Trusted by over 30,000 locations across 32+ countries - including brands like McDonald’s and JYSK - Solink delivers clarity when it counts. Our solutions help businesses reduce shrink, optimize performance, and respond proactively to potential threats.

We're growing rapidly, earning industry recognition, and scaling with purpose. We’ve been recognized by Deloitte’s Fast 50 and Fast 500, Business Intelligence Group, and as one of Ottawa’s Best Places to Work. And we’re just getting started!

The Role

The access team at Solink is focused on expanding the integration of access control systems with Solink’s current Alarm product and CloudVMS capabilities to enhance the physical security Solink brings its customers, as well as provide a truly seamless and pleasant experience in access control.

As a Senior Full Stack Developer at Solink, you will spend your days improving security AND user experience of physical security through deeper integration with other internal and third party systems, leveraging Solink’s Sidekick AI platform, and close collaboration with a world class team of engineers, designers, and architects. You’ll work on many different components in the Solink stack while directly contributing to the growth and success of the company.

What You’ll Do
  • Build Resilient Infrastructure: Design, develop, and maintain back-end infrastructure that powers deeply integrated, highly available systems at scale.

  • Power Access Control Innovation: Develop core product logic that enables Solink’s access control systems to scale and evolve—supporting our growth into AI-native product capabilities.

  • Own the Stack, End-to-End: Contribute across both back-end and front-end components using AWS cloud services, Node.js, and React—collaborating with architects, DevOps, and product teams.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with R&D, Product Management, and Support to scope solutions, troubleshoot issues, and deliver high-quality features that make a difference for our customers.

  • Lead With Initiative: Take full ownership of tasks using Jira. Whether you’re spearheading a major feature or supporting ongoing enhancements, you push work forward with focus and accountability.

  • Contribute to Design and Planning: Engage in technical design discussions and planning sessions, helping break down future work and ensure we’re always building with scalability and quality in mind.

  • Explore and Elevate: Research new technologies, experiment with better approaches, and share your findings with the team to continuously improve our tools and techniques.

  • Support What You Build: Help resolve reported issues and provide product insight to internal teams—ensuring we maintain reliability as we scale.

What You Bring

Must-Have:

  • Experienced and Versatile: You bring 5+ years of professional software development experience, backed by a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. You’ve worked across the stack and across teams—and know how to deliver results.

  • Cloud-Native Mindset: You’ve built and shipped features in modern AWS environments using services like Lambda, EC2, and AWS CLI. Serverless architecture isn’t new to you—it’s your day-to-day.

  • Strong in JavaScript/TypeScript: You’re fluent in JS/TS and have experience delivering clean, maintainable code across full stack applications.

  • API & Integration Savvy: You’ve built and maintained integrations with third-party systems using REST, MQTT, and similar protocols—and know how to ensure performance and reliability at scale.

  • Collaborative and Agile: You thrive in a collaborative team environment, contribute actively to planning and design discussions, and know how to navigate agile workflows with tools like Jira.

  • Ownership Mentality: You take initiative, follow through, and don’t wait to be told where to add value. You’re just as comfortable leading projects as you are supporting others.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Familiarity with AWS tools like VPC, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, SQS, and Kinesis.

  • Experience with React and modern frontend development practices.

  • Background in DevOps, orchestration, or IaC tools like Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation, or Kubernetes.

  • Comfort working with SQL/NoSQL systems (e.g., Elasticsearch, DynamoDB).

  • Knowledge of security and cybersecurity best practices.

  • Proficiency in more than one programming language.

Security Requirements
  • Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;

  • Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;

  • Be willing to comply with Solink’s own security policies and standards.
