Job summary

Hiive, based in Canada, is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to build client-facing experiences on our main platform. You will ship high‑quality code from day one using React and TypeScript, mentor peers, and help shape frontend architecture.

You will partner with designers to translate mockups, collaborate with the founders, and contribute to a fast-moving product team in Vancouver. This role emphasizes performance, accessibility, and a strong engineering culture.

Qualifications

5+ years building interfaces with React.
Strong TypeScript experience in large codebases.
Experience with component libraries (Chakra UI).
Experience with authenticated backend APIs.
Translating design mockups into implementation.
Close collaboration with designers on UI/UX feedback.
Experience setting technical direction or mentoring frontend engineers.

Responsibilities

Build mobile-responsive UIs with React and TypeScript, shipping high-quality code from day one.
Own frontend architecture decisions including components, state, and performance.
Set frontend standards and mentor engineers on best practices.
Collaborate with product designers to translate mockups into polished implementations.
Work closely with founders and a small team to build product and company.
Adapt quickly to a fast-moving environment and shifting priorities.
