Job summary

LDC is seeking a Senior Freight Operator based in Vancouver, British Columbia, to manage freight operations for time charter dry bulk vessels. You will liaise with vessel owners, agents, and trading teams to optimize voyages, monitor P&L, and ensure timely payments. Proficiency with IMOS, Sedna, and DA Desk is highly valued.

The role demands a strong compliance mindset, leadership potential, and the ability to collaborate across departments and regions in a fast-paced international environment.

Qualifications

• Must have post-secondary education in Shipping, Commerce, or Economic studies.
• 5-7 years of experience as an Operator of Time Charter dry bulk vessel.
• Previous sea-time on dry bulk vessels is preferred.
• Experience with Parcelling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with vessel owners/masters/charterers/agents and stakeholders.
• Follow up on post fixture activities and ensure voyage efficiency.
• Understand Stowage Plan and intake optimization basics.
• Bunker planning and collaboration with bunker desk.
• Voyage optimization and vessel performance with 3rd party routing providers.
• Understand Voyage Profit & Loss concepts.
• Know main charter party clauses.
• Manage external relations with customers and vendors.
• Ensure timely freight and hire payments.
• Collaborate with Commercial team and Freight Platform desks.
• Utilize IMOS, Sedna, and related digital tools.
