Qualifications

Job Overview:

The Hyperconverged signal processing team plays a key role in helping Ross Video achieve its corporate vision to lead the world in video production solutions. We enable our customers to integrate any media into their production using highly acclaimed hardware platforms such as openGear and Ultrix. What the job is all about:

  • Promote, refine, and develop challenging and innovative video processing and transport features in the most integrated hardware platform in the broadcast industry.
  • Develop RTL for high-performance realtime media processing systems involving high bandwidth media interfaces to memory, PCIe, or hardware-accelerated functions such as video scaling or HDR/SDR conversion.
  • Implement realtime transport protocols in FPGA designs including SDI and SMPTE 2110.
  • Review schematic designs, advise on FPGA function density, thermal design, clocking, etc., and contribute to architecture decisions.
  • Create complete IO ring designs for FPGAs like Arria10, Stratix-10, Ultrascale+, MPSoC, and Agilex to verify pin-outs and IP in Quartus and Vivado.
  • Develop high-level design requirements, manage part selection, and support project schedules.
  • Generate specification and design documentation for cross-functional teams.
  • Verify FPGA and hardware design functionality in collaboration with team members.
  • Apply efficient debugging skills.
  • Support other staff through the entire NPI process, including design, documentation, testing, manufacturing, and customer support.

Who you are:

  • Intermediate to senior FPGA design experience across topics like FPGA building blocks, system architecture, high-speed transceivers, clock analysis, and timing closure.
  • Proficient in FPGA development languages such as Verilog, SystemVerilog, and TCL scripting.
  • Capable of creating Verilog testbenches and running VCS simulations.
  • Expertise in current Xilinx and Intel devices and associated tools.
  • Knowledge of high-speed serial interfaces, DDR3/4, HBM, PLLs, and signal integrity.
  • Excellent debugging skills and proficiency with lab equipment.
  • Experience in embedded environments with Linux, Bash, C/C++, and networking skills is a plus.
  • Knowledge of broadcast studio applications, digital video, and audio standards is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years FPGA and hardware development experience, especially in Video/Audio technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, observational skills, problem-solving ability, and a proactive attitude.
