Job summary

Husky Technologies TM is seeking a senior lead engineer to drive system-level design within its Bolton, Ontario facilities. The role focuses on translating product definitions into high-quality, cost-efficient designs for fluid-power systems and components, with leadership across engineering disciplines.

You will participate in business cases, lead product development, and mentor teams while representing Husky to customers and partners, contributing to a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of design experience in a related industry.
• Specialized knowledge of product, market and customer requirements.
• Expertise in hydraulic standards, specifications, and compliance requirements.
• Skilled in fluid mechanics simulation and data analysis.
• Expert in calculating design parameters and applying engineering principles to design.
• Strong understanding and experience in hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling water systems.
• Strong time management and organizational skills for maximum efficiency.
• Illustrates attention to detail when completing tasks .
• Advanced communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
• Strong problem-solving skills

• Advance understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes

• Experience selecting and sizing various components. (for example, but not limited to, pumps, servo motors, heat exchangers, servo valves, various pneumatic and hydraulics components, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Participate in the formulation and/or evaluation of business cases
• Lead a team of Engineers/Design Specialists in the development of new products. This includes all steps within a formal product development process
• Develop Fluidpower concept and system level design with limited guidance, frequently in the absence of specific design standards
• Product architect
• Contribute to and verify engineering documentation
• Apply scientific/engineering principles in the design of machines
• Sizing and selection of hydraulic and pneumatic components as well as material selection and application of design standards
• Provide leadership, mentoring and training to team members
• Lead and contribute to design reviews and brainstorming sessions as well as responsible for decision making in the context of product definition and architecture
• Participate in or lead continuous improvement activities
• Verify all concept and systems level process steps of the product development process and Product Release process are followed
• Drives the product development process by leveraging team collaboration to deliver successful outcomes
• Design risk mitigation including participation or facilitation of FMEA
• Cross discipline interaction and communication including cross discipline inputs – Analysis, Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Manufacturing, Validation/Test
• Represent Husky technically in front of customers, suppliers and technical partners
• Represent the Innovation and Sustainability department in front of internal customers including the executive team
