Job summary

Town of Oakville is seeking an experienced Asset Management professional to maintain and analyze the asset registry, ensuring compliance with PSAB and related regulations. You will advise on life-cycle costs, asset values, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires extensive fixed asset knowledge, JD Edwards experience, and strong communication to support asset management plans and audits across the organization.

Qualifications

• University degree in business or related field and professional accounting designation or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years Capital Asset Management experience.
• Extensive experience with fixed asset accounting policies and PSAB requirements.
• Experience with JD Edwards and asset management reporting tools.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain asset registry in compliance with PSAB and O. Reg. 588/17.
• Analyze whole life cycle, service life, condition, and replacement value.
• Track asset accounting for WIP vs operating expenses under GAAP.
• Prepare year-end and regulatory asset reporting for Town and provincial needs.
• Liaise with auditors on capital asset policies and reporting.
• Support development of asset management plans and data governance.
