Job summary

The City of St. Albert's Engineering department seeks an Asset Management Analyst to support asset programs across departments.

Reporting to the Senior Asset Management Specialist, you will help input data, validate GIS datasets, maintain asset registers, and assist with Tangible Capital Asset reporting. You will collaborate with Corporate Asset Management and various departments, help develop asset management plans, aid corporate reporting, and support data migration into Cityworks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, GIS, Data Analytics, Statistics or related field and a minimum of one year of related experience.
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, GIS, Data Analytics, Statistics or related field and a minimum of three years of related experience.
  • A certificate in asset management is an asset.
  • E.I.T. or C.E.T. designation is an asset or equivalent credentials with eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Input and validate data, manage GIS datasets, maintain asset registers, prepare reports, and assist with Tangible Capital Asset reporting.
  • Bridge Corporate Asset Management with departments and provide asset management expertise, training, and support as programs develop.
  • Assist in preparing asset management plans and provide data for corporate reporting (e.g., State of Infrastructure Reports).
  • Support data migration into Cityworks, collaborate with SMEs for validation and formatting, participate in UAT, ensure data integrity, and provide training during change management.

Job Details

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Engineering department as an Asset Management Analyst. Reporting to the Senior Asset Management Specialist, this position will be responsible for providing support to various departments and assisting in the advancement of the asset management programs.


Responsibilities


  • Responsible for data inputting and validating, managing GIS datasets, maintaining asset registers, preparing reports, and assisting with Tangible Capital Asset reporting.

  • Provide a link between the Corporate Asset Management team and the individual departments (Community Services, Public Operations (Facilities), Recreation and Parks, and Emergency Services) and to provide asset management expertise, training, and support on the overall asset management program, as it gets developed.

  • Assist departments in preparing asset management plans and provide data required for corporate reporting (eg. State of Infrastructure Reports).

  • Facilitating asset data transition into the Enterprise Maintenance Management – Asset Management software (Cityworks), collaborating with subject matter experts for data validation and formatting, participating in user acceptance testing, ensuring data integrity, providing training and support during change management, and coordinating with experts for successful data migration.

  • Assist in researching techniques, methods, or tools to manage and continually improve asset data.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, GIS, Data Analytics, Statistics or related field and a minimum of one year of related experience, or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, GIS, Data Analytics, Statistics or related field and a minimum of three years of related experience.

  • A certificate in asset management is an asset.

  • APEGA Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) designation or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) certification is an asset. Equivalent out-of-province credentials with eligibility for E.I.T. or C.E.T. registration will be considered.

  • Strong knowledge and skill with web applications and visualization tools, such as ArcGIS online or PowerBI.

  • Proficiency in asset management, performance measures, financial management, and understanding of municipal assets.

  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
