Job summary

Humanoid in Vancouver develops humanoid robotics with a focus on safe, high‑reliability embedded systems. The Firmware and Embedded Software Engineer will own real‑time software for critical robotic subsystems, ensuring robust hardware‑software integration and low-latency control.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, and AI teams to prototype, test, and deploy embedded software powering our platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
• 5+ years experience in embedded software/firmware for robotics or real-time hardware.
• Strong in C/C++ with Python for testing/tools.
• Experience with RTOS and EtherCAT, CAN, UART, SPI, I2C protocols.
• Experience integrating sensors, actuators, and motor control.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software with hard real-time performance and safety.
• Design interfaces for sensors, actuators, and control electronics.
• Write and debug firmware for microcontrollers, FPGAs, SoCs.
• Collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineers for system integration.
• Document architecture, code, and test results for traceability.
