Motorola Solutions’ Video Division in Vancouver is seeking a Firmware Developer II to design, implement, test, and maintain software for cutting-edge video security products.

You will work on multi-threaded C++ software, Linux device drivers, and low‑level components, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with QA to ensure reliable, scalable solutions. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of firmware or software experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of firmware or software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• Experience with C/C++ embedded systems and Linux.
• Experience with high-speed data processing, multithreading.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain software for edge video security products.
• Contribute to multi-threaded C++ software for high-speed data processing and networking.
• Develop Linux device drivers and low-level system components.
• Assist in debugging, analyze performance bottlenecks, and fix bugs.
• Document designs, algorithms, and unit tests for long-term maintainability.
• Support build systems (Make, CMake) and Python tooling.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with QA for test cases.
• Communicate across design centers and engineering disciplines.
