Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Canada is seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Developer to help build the next generation of video conferencing devices. You will design firmware for Android- and Linux-based platforms and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in embedded C/C++, Android internals and Linux, plus 10+ years of experience, and a passion for learning and delivering high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in EE/CS/SE or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Proficiency in embedded C/C++.
• Experience with firmware development and debugging in embedded environments.
• Knowledge in Networking, Security, USB, Video encoding/decoding (H.264/H.265/SVC), HDMI, Bluetooth.
• Strong communication and collaborative mindset.
• Understanding of Android internals and Linux preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop firmware for Android- and/or Linux-based video conferencing devices.
• Build and enhance platform capabilities below the framework layer.
• Lead development of embedded C/C++ applications that are secure, scalable, and high-performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture, standards, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues in embedded environments.
• Contribute to project planning, documentation, and testing strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and share expertise across the team.
• Drive continuous improvement through agile and lean development practices.
