Job summary

Lush Manufacturing in Etobicoke, Ontario seeks a Senior Financial Analyst, Manufacturing to partner with the Manufacturing teams, drive cost management, forecasting and performance insights.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will lead variance analyses, budgeting, KPI development, and decision support across manufacturing operations. On-site role with a competitive CAD base salary and opportunities to influence product and process decisions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in manufacturing finance or FP&A with cost accounting experience.
  • Experience with P&L, variance analysis, and forecasting models.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
  • Advanced Excel and KPI dashboard building for managers.
  • Strong communication to explain financial info to non-finance audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted Finance partner to the Manufacturing Team with timely financial support.
  • Lead month-end variance analyses and operational reviews and provide insights.
  • Manage monthly re-forecasting and annual budgeting processes with forecasting models.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs and educate stakeholders on financial impact.
  • Identify process improvements to drive efficiency and better decision-making.
  • Develop centralized tools and dashboards for performance visibility.
  • Deliver ROI analyses for projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and development support to team members.
  • Support ad-hoc analyses, modeling, and presentation materials as required.

Lush Manufacturing produces the fresh handmade products that support more than 270 retail shops across Canada and the US, as well as our digital e-commerce business. We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, Manufacturing to join our Manufacturing Finance team in Etobicoke.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, Manufacturing, you will be a key financial business partner to our Manufacturing teams, helping leaders understand performance, identify opportunities, manage costs, and make informed decisions.

The Senior Financial Analyst - Manufacturing undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as a trusted Finance business partner to the Manufacturing Team, providing quality, relevant, and timely financial support to the team and the organization
  • Acting as a face of Finance and as a critical friend to the business. Be a storyteller, turning data into easily understood trends and impacts that can be actioned by the business.
  • Have the ability to convey complex financial information in a concise, non-technical manner
  • Lead month-end variance analysis and operational reviews for Manufacturing, providing insights into financial performance, key underlying drivers, changes against plan, and upcoming opportunities and risks.
  • Lead monthly financial re-forecasting and annual budgeting processes, including the development, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of forecasting models to ensure accurate financial plans
  • Proactively review and develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to find actionable opportunities for stakeholders and educate the business on how those metrics drive financial improvements
  • Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting quality, financial performance, and decision-making
  • Responsible for developing and improving centralized tools and dashboards that enable business users to clearly understand their performance and opportunities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver decision support, impact assessments, and return on investment (ROI) analyses for evaluating projects and strategic initiatives
  • Improve finance knowledge across the business by effectively communicating financial concepts that can be easily understood by all stakeholders
  • Provide peer support, guidance, and development opportunities to team members
  • Proactively seek solutions to current and foreseeable issues
  • Provide support for any ad-hoc analysis projects, modelling, and presentation materials as required
You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on finance experience within a manufacturing - finance setting, and proven understanding of operational processes and systems
  • Experience in manufacturing FP&A, working with key financial and accounting principles, cost accounting, Profit & Loss statement, variance analysis, modelling, and problem-solving skills
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Advance Microsoft Excel, data manipulation, and ability to build KPI dashboards for middle and senior managers
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences
  • Ability to partner directly with Manufacturing and operational leaders and translate finance into practical business language
  • Proven experience in developing, utilizing and analysing financial and operational KPIs
  • A proven, proactive approach, and initiative, collaborative, and inclusive approach to business support
  • Strong organization and time-management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • A commitment to high-quality work and continuous learning
  • Excitement and commitment to learn, understand, and relate to Lush's core brand values
  • Ability to work on-site 5 days per week
Preferred:
  • CPA designation or equivalent accounting qualification
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Dynamics AX, QAD, (or other ERP)
  • Experience using Adaptive forecasting software considered an asset

This salary range is based on an assessment of the local market and may vary depending on the successful candidate's location. This range is based on base salary and does not include additional bonus program and total rewards eligibility.

Base Salary Range

$97,290-$108,000 CAD
