Qualifications

  • Technical systems savvy to extract data and support analyses.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, and communication skills for senior audience.
  • Analytical modelling and problem‑solving skills with solid knowledge of financial statements.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Manufacturing Finance, Supply Chain, S&A to provide timely financial support.
  • Turn data into understandable trends and actionable insights.
  • Perform month-end variance analysis for Supply Chain incl. Purchases and Inventory.
  • Review inventory performance, target setting, and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Support S&OP process with insights and analyses.
  • Lead monthly forecasts and annual budgeting, improve models.
  • Develop centralized tools and dashboards for performance clarity.
  • Provide ROI analyses on projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Communicate financial concepts clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Seek opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Job description

The Intermediate Financial Analyst plays an essential role in growing talent in our business through collaboration and support within FP&A and our business partners. You know how to be curious about opportunities and how to be real with feedback and support.

Analysts play an essential role in developing and executing the company vision by supporting decision making, planning, and driving results. You will understand business operations, developing tools, metrics, and processes to provide information that drives action and improvements. You will ensure information is accurate, relevant, and actionable while being understood by a wide audience of stakeholders.

You will be comfortable regularly interacting with all levels of staff and provide them with insightful, forward looking, reporting and analysis. Lush is a true vertically integrated business including Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Digital, and Admin streams. While all streams are linked, this role is primarily focused on Supply Chain and Purchasing. You will play a key role in all budgeting and forecasting workflows for these teams. There is also opportunity to learn and work cross functionally from other Analysts on the team as they support their business areas.

Reporting to the Manufacturing FP&A Manager, the Intermediate Financial Analyst undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial business partner to the Manufacturing Finance, Supply Chain, S&A teams, providing quality, relevant, and timely, financial support to the stream and the organization.
  • Be a storyteller, turning data into easily understood trends and impacts that can be actioned by the business.
  • Perform month-end variance analysis and operational reviews for Supply Chain departments, including Purchases and Inventory, providing insights on financial performance and key underlying drivers, changes against the plan, and upcoming opportunities and risks.
  • Review performance of Inventory, identifying appropriate targets as well as reducing inefficiencies in slow moving or obsolete inventory.
  • Provide support, insights, and analysis to the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Responsible for monthly financial forecasting and annual budgeting processes, including the development, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of forecasting models to ensure accurate financial plans.
  • Review metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to find actionable opportunities for stakeholders and educate the business on how those metrics drive financial improvements.
  • Support the development and improvement of centralized tools and dashboards for business users to clearly understand their performance and opportunities.
  • Work with stakeholders to provide decision support, impact assessment, and return on investment (ROI) analysis on the evaluation of projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Improve finance knowledge across the business by effectively communicating financial concepts that can be easily understood by all stakeholders
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency of processes and deliverables.
  • Provide support for any ad-hoc analysis projects, modelling, and presentation materials as required.
  • Position requires on-site 4 days a week.

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a Manufacturing - Finance setting, with a proven understanding of operational processes and systems. Experience working within Supply Chain Finance is also an asset
  • 3 years of FP&A/Accounting experience working with key financial and accounting principles, cost accounting, Profit & Loss statement, variance analysis, modelling, and problem-solving skills
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, data manipulation, and KPI dashboard building skills
  • Technical system savvy, ready to deep dive in multiple systems to extract data
  • Strong leadership, presentation, and communication skills. Candidates must be comfortable communicating with senior management and manager to explain difficult terms in simple language
  • Proven analytical, modelling, and problem-solving skills, with an in-depth knowledge of financial statements and drivers that impact them

Preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX (or other ERP) and/or Adaptive forecasting software considered an asset
  • Experience in dashboarding, analysis and visualizations through PowerBI
  • Experience in vertically integrated operations
  • Formal education or relevant experience in project management
  • Accounting designation preferred

This salary range is based on an assessment of the local market and may vary depending on the successful candidate's location. This range is based on base salary and does not include additional bonus program and total rewards eligibility.

Base Salary Range

$80,100 — $89,000 CAD
