Job description

We are looking to add an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to our Finance team in Vancouver, B.C. The role reports to Team Lead, FP&A and will be a key driver for delivering the annual budget, monthly P&L reporting to our Executive Leadership Team, and ad-hoc analyses in support of various business units. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys developing innovative solutions. Creativity and flexibility will be keys to being successful in this role.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Assist in maintaining and updating monthly forecast and budget models using advanced Excel formulas and scenario analysis.
  • Support the consolidated budget process and rolling forecast updates.
  • Collaborate with peers and leaders across the company to develop and refine financial analysis.
  • Maintain weekly cash flow forecasts to ensure liquidity visibility, support operational decision-making, and identify potential cash risks or funding needs.
  • Prepare, analyze, and review monthly financial performance reports for multiple departments, including departmental variance analysis.
  • Contribute to the preparation of various analyses and corporate presentations for senior and executive management, the Board of Directors, investors, and lenders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with leaders, finance management, and peers on strategic and ad hoc projects as they arise, including cross-functional teams such as marketing, account management, and revenue operations.
  • Share your financial knowledge with peers to improve financial acumen across the organization.
  • Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to streamline forecasting and reporting processes through automation and improved structure.
  • Support enhancements in report consistency, data accuracy, and efficiency in financial workflows.
  • Reconcile financial data with accounting records to ensure accuracy and consistency between financial planning and actuals.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial reports.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform additional duties as occasionally required by your manager.

Qualifications :

  • High degree of personal accountability and growth mindset.
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 4–6 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, supported by 2–3 years of hands-on accounting background.
  • Strong history of process improvements and adaptability for a fast-growing environment.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
  • Understanding of the 3-way financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) and how they are interrelated.
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter, with ability to work independently and with teams from various departments.
  • Must have experience working in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Dynamics
  • Experience working with Jet Reporting, Power BI or equivalent FP&A tool would be considered an asset.
  • Health & Safety conscious individual.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.

92,000 - $105,000 a year

The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on their experience, knowledge and skills they bring to MineSense, market data based on their location as well as internal equity. Keeping this mind, the salary offered can be outside of the range posted.
