The Corporation of the City of Niagara Falls is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide financial support for budgeting, financial reporting, internal audit reviews and capital asset planning and reporting.

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Financial Reporting and Analysis, you will conduct variance analyses and develop forecasting models while supporting the city’s asset management initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have a university degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA designation is required.
• Municipal accounting/finance program is an asset.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, budgeting and capital asset planning.
• Experience with public sector accounting and/or not-for-profit accounting standards is an asset.

Responsabilités

• Investigate, analyze and provide technical reports on internal controls and transaction recording.
• Provide detailed analysis and reporting of quarterly and annual operating results including variance analysis.
• Develop and maintain systems for forecasting revenues and expenses in annual operating and capital budgets.
• Perform operational reviews for operating units and assess performance and efficiency.
• Assist in development and maintenance of the City’s asset management plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
