Qualifications

This role will act as the Finance Business Partner and trusted financial advisor to the TSX Trust business. The mandate for this role includes, but not limited to financial planning and analysis; management and board deliverables; maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data and relevant business metrics. Working in collaboration with the TMX Group controllership team, you will support accounting functions and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will engage with internal and external stakeholders ensuring the seamless delivery of all deliverables within the mandate of Finance Business Partner.

  • Reports to: Senior Manager, Finance (TSX Trust)
  • Job Location: Hybrid (2–3 days/week in office) - based in Toronto, ON.
Key Accountabilities
Finance Business Partnership
  • Deliver actionable financial insights to TSX Trust business leaders by analyzing performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Partner with business teams to lead the end-to-end financial planning cycle, including quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and multi-year strategic planning (defining targets, assumptions, working models, and timelines).
  • Drive strategic decision support by building dynamic financial models, developing comprehensive business cases, and conducting post-implementation reviews for key initiatives.
  • Collaborate with individual budget owners to monitor financial performance against annual targets and implement course corrections as needed.
  • Support TMX Group stakeholders on key corporate deliverables, including partnering with Investor Relations on external disclosures.
  • Provide dynamic modeling and analytical support for ad-hoc business initiatives and strategic projects.
Management & Board Deliverables
  • Prepare the quarterly TSX Trust Board reporting package, providing clear commentary and analysis on financial performance and KPIs against budget, prior periods, and multi-year trends.
  • Develop the monthly management reporting package for the TSX Trust Senior Leadership Team to highlight financial drivers and operational metrics.
  • Support the year-end financial reporting process, including drafting TSX Trust financial statements and disclosure notes.
  • Oversee regulatory deliverables for TSX Trust, including the annual Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) and recurring filings for OSFI, the AMF, and provincial regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare supplementary schedules, financial analyses, and executive decks as required.
Accounting & Audit Oversight
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entry preparation, GL account analysis, and balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
  • Partner with central finance and controllership functions to ensure proper accounting treatment for complex transactions across the general ledger.
  • Serve as the primary finance point of contact for internal and external audit programs.
Must Have(s)
  • Education & Credentials: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; a CPA designation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), financial reporting, or business partnering within financial services.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, complex financial model building) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), with an aptitude for adopting AI and modern tech tools to drive process efficiencies.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Capabilities: Exceptional analytical acumen paired with a strong foundation in accounting principles, root-cause analysis, and challenging business assumptions effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to build trusted partnerships across diverse functional teams, operational business units, and executive leadership levels.
  • Execution & Organization: Self-starter with high attention to detail, capable of managing competing priorities under tight deadline constraints.
Nice to Have(s)
  • Systems Experience: Hands-on experience with Workday Financials and Amazon QuickSight (or similar BI/data visualization tools).
  • Industry Knowledge: Exposure to regulatory frameworks (OSFI/AMF), trust operations, or capital markets environment.

Salary Range: $90,000/year - $110,000/year CAD. Please note that the salary range included is a guideline only. The salary offered may vary based on factors, including, but not limited to, the successful candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
